Homebase conducted an environmental scan of impactful events across the Bay Area, California, and nationwide. We leveraged existing partnerships and our experience in the field to speak with 15+ leaders in Continuums of Care (CoCs), nonprofits, and community-based organizations. During the interviews, we asked about innovative approaches they’d taken, as well as major challenges and gaps in their work.
We also surveyed our own staff who work in nearly every Bay Area community, as well as CoCs around the country. We supplemented information from these conversations with digital research on the programs that stood out across the Bay Area region.
While we tried to be as comprehensive as possible in our research, we recognize that the world of homelessness services is vast.
